Spike well
A spike well (“spice” in Latvian) is the cheapest private water source: a narrow pipe with a filter at the end, which we drive or drill into sandy soil down to the groundwater. It suits a private house, a summer house and garden watering, if the water level is no deeper than 7–8 m. A new spike well costs from €350; the pump and the connection to the house are not included. We also clean and repair existing spike wells that give little water or suck air. More: spike well.
Borehole
A borehole reaches a deeper aquifer covered from above by dense layers, and it also works where the water is too deep for a spike well or the ground is stony. Drilling costs from €65/m, a borehole ~30 m deep from €2,000 without the pump and pipe run. We equip boreholes (from €500, without the pump), clean clogged boreholes (from €400) and decommission (plug) those no longer in use. More: borehole.
Well cleaning
We pump out the dug well (concrete-ring well), clean silt and sediment off the walls and bottom, inspect the joints between the concrete rings and disinfect the well. Cleaning costs from €150. It is worth doing if the water has become cloudy or smells, if the well has not been cleaned for several years, and after flooding. More: well cleaning.
Well digging
We dig a new dug well with an excavator, or by hand if machinery cannot reach the site, and set the concrete rings down to the aquifer. We deepen an existing well if it runs dry in summer, and repair damaged joints and rings (from €150). We price a new well after hearing the situation, because the depth, the soil and the number of rings decide it. More: well digging.
Water pump installation
We install submersible pumps in boreholes, surface pumps and pump stations for spike wells and wells, pressure tanks and pressure switches. Submersible pump installation costs from €200, pump separately. We also replace and repair pumps that switch on too often, do not draw water or give no pressure. More: water pump installation.
Water treatment
We choose the filter by the test result, not by the colour of the water: iron and manganese need an iron removal filter, hard water needs a water softener, and for drinking water in the kitchen a reverse osmosis filter can be enough. An iron removal filter or a water softener with installation costs from €600, reverse osmosis from €250. We also maintain existing equipment. More: water treatment.
Water testing
We take the sample correctly (after running the water, in a sterile container for microbiology), deliver it to an accredited laboratory and explain the result: which parameters exceed the drinking water limit values and what to do about it. A basic test costs from €35, a full test with microbiology from €95. More: water testing.

We build the system from the source to the house: the water pipe below frost depth, the entry into the house, a pump with a pressure tank and filters in the utility room. It suits a new build, a country house and an old system that has to be rebuilt.
